Our Mission

To empower people with disabilities to create a vision of personal success, build confidence, and achieve life goals through individualized life coaching and peer mentoring services.

  • We believe that personal goals add to the quality of our lives. As individuals with disabilities, we have aspirations to fulfill. Sometimes after acquiring a disability, we find it more difficult to see the path to achieve those goals. However, when we embrace a KnowBarriers attitude, the barriers to our goals become challenges to overcome.

  • KnowBarriers offers life experience and clinical expertise to assist persons with disabilities to develop the confidence and skills needed to move forward in their lives and achieve their life goals.

KnowBarriers services are funded through philanthropic foundations, grants or a contract with the County of Los Angeles. There is no cost to patients of Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center.
