Jeffrey Gamble
Violence Prevention Specialist
For Jeffrey, the worst part of being a young male in Los Angeles in the 1980’s was the gangs and drug dealing in his community. Jeffrey had a lot of problems with authority; finding himself being kicked out of five junior high schools and spending many nights in juvenile detention facilities. Jeffrey learned that if you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything.
It took a car accident, resulting in a C4/ C5 spinal cord injury to change the direction of his life. After years of being angry at the world and blaming others, Jeffrey turned his life to God and begin living life again. He attends UCLA extension program in Alcohol and Drugs Counseling, learned to drive and with the help of the KnowBarriers life coaching program, obtained a modified van.
Jeffrey is an important part of the KnowBarriers Violence Prevention Outreach Program, helping to steer at risk youth away from the same path that almost took his life.
